From a single parcel of incredibly steep, schist soils, the 2024 Côte Rôtie Nève offers red and black fruits, scorched earth, graphite, leather, and savory, floral nuances that define the aromatics. It's medium to full-bodied, has a concentrated, pure, layered mouthfeel, beautiful tannins, and a great, great finish. You could put this up with the best in the vintage.

A soft, ripe, lively and juicy style of Côte-Rôtie with good acidity, fine tannins and well-integrated oak. It has lovely balance and enough concentration to propel it forward into the medium term. Perhaps not as long a finish as in some years, but this is nonetheless great for the vintage. With 30% whole bunches; aged 50% in demi-muid, 50% barriques; 20% new oak.

Rather rich and sumptuous on the nose. Then determinedly light on the palate. Fleet of foot, and perhaps an attempt to fashion a Côte Rôtie that celebrates its difference from the more concentrated Hermitage. Almost delicate! Still noticeable tannin. It will be interesting to see how it develops.

The 2024 Côte-Rôtie Neve may struggle to reach the same heights the 2023 ultimately achieved, but for now the possibility remains. It first shimmers with intense spice box notes, blackberry, pencil shavings and a touch of cold smoke. Medium to full-bodied, the 2024 is concentrated and lifted, presenting a compact expression of Neve, completing its arc with remarkable vivacity.
