The 2022 Bastor-Lamontagne has a pure bouquet with honeysuckle, dried honey and quince aromas. With much more focus than in previous vintages, the palate is well balance with tangy marmalade notes on the entry. There’s fine acidity, and the 2022 is harmonious with a minerally finish. It’s the best wine I have tasted from this fast-improving Sauternes estate.

Orange and fresh lemon zest on the nose. Energetic, cool, creamy, zesty, open and lifted! A lovely intensity straight away with precision, focus and real bite to the orange and lemon fruit with such a satisfying weight to the palate, not too rich, not too sharp but a really delicious crunchy yet sweet style that is creamy, light footed and unctuous. I really like this, not trying too hard, less upfront than the 2019 but there's such easy appeal here. More calm and relaxed than overt and upfront but I really like it. 165g residual sugar. 3.85pH. Dried apple, pear and spice with botrytis character. Full and rich. Medium sweet. Solid structure. Serious intensity for this property. 55% sauvignon and 45% semillon.

Gold yellow colour, intense colour, this is enjoyable with lift and gentle citrus and apricot pit. Low acidity as in all of these wines but they have done a great job in providing contrast of bitterness against the sweetness, even hints of mint leaf on the finish. 145g/l residual sugar. Harvest October 6 to 29.

Candied lemons, pineapple, marmalade, and white peaches with honey on the nose and medium-bodied, fresh, sweet, palate. This lighter, fresher, Sauternes is a nice wine to pair with savory courses.

Light golden yellow, silver reflections. Fresh white tropical fruit, nuances of lychee and kiwi, a touch of vanilla, some blossom honey and peach. Juicy and deep, fine honey, melon and peach in the background. A textured sweet wine with a great future.

Bright, fresh, intensely sweet and richly botrytized, with confit melon, pineapple, confit lime, homemade lemonade, clementine peel and tarte au citron vying for one’s attention. There’s a little vanilla and sweet spices too. Lovely fresh pineapple on the palate – so juicy and pure and just a little hint of caramel au beurre salé. A really lovely wine. So sapid and juicy. The first of the Sauternes flight at the UGC and setting a high standard.

55% Sauvignon Blanc, 45% Sémillon. Certified organic. Cask sample.
Pineapple, pear and honeyed notes. Very pure. Full and rich on the palate, the botrytis evident. Long and persistent. Botrytis-bitter edge on the finish. A success this year.
