Herkomst & Château du Tertre
Château du Tertre ligt op een van de hoogste punten van Margaux en heeft een rijke historie die teruggaat tot de 12e eeuw. Sinds 2021 is het in handen van de familie Helfrich, die het werk voortzet van voormalig eigenaar Eric Albada Jelgersma. Die liet het château restaureren en startte een ambitieus herplantingsproject dat nu zijn vruchten afwerpt. De 2022 is daar een prachtig voorbeeld van: een nieuwe stijl met meer finesse, balans en elegantie, passend bij de allerbeste Margaux.
Smaak & vinificatie
De 2022 combineert kracht met elegantie, een weerspiegeling van het geweldige terroir én het vakmanschap van het team. De blend bestaat uit 57% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Cabernet Franc, 15% Merlot en 5% Petit Verdot.

This is very structured and intense with blackberries, currants, walnuts and chocolate. Fresh tobacco as well. Full-bodied, it has lovely fruit and a flavorful finish. A succulent and juicy red. One of the best ever from here. Leave it alone for two or three years. Best after 2028.

Polished and supple, it's a blend of 57% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Cabernet Franc, 15% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot, which more or less represents this estate's varietal breakdown after its extensive replanting program is complete. This looks likely to emerge as the finest du Tertre in several decades, and it is sure to be one of the better values of the en primeur campaign.

A big, raw, exuberant, incredibly promising barrel sample, the 2022 Château Du Tertre reveals a vivid purple hue as well as full-bodied aromas and flavors of crème de cassis, spring flowers, and graphite. A blend of 57% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Cabernet Franc, and the rest Merlot and Petit Verdot, this terrific Margaux has fine tannins, beautiful balance, and a great finish. The cellar will be your friend here.
