The 2025 Château de Lamarque takes a little time to settle in the glass, revealing blackberry and blueberry fruit, violet and crushed stone. Very good delineation. The palate is medium-bodied, with fine tannins, tensile and focused, harmonious and poised, with impressive weight towards the finish that lingers in the mouth. One of the best that I have tasted from this estate.

Deep dark ruby garnet, opaque core, violet reflections, delicate rim brightening. Delicate roasted aromas, some nougat, dark berry fruit, a hint of plums and herbs. Medium body, red berry texture, subtle tannins, mineral, an uncomplicated companion at the table.

Medium-bodied, vibrant, and fresh, the wine delivers its lively currants and soft, black cherry-filled palate with ease. Give it a year or two in the bottle, and this well-priced, Left Bank wine will be even better. Drink from 2029-2043.

Fruity and bright with redcurrants and cherries at the fore alongside quite crisp, but tight and filling, liquorice-edged tannins. A little oak dominant right now but unfussy and relatively hands off.
