"The 2020 Section 94 Sauvignon Blanc is ripe (14% alcohol), but it carries it so well. The wine is weighty (emphasized by time in older oak barrels) and wide—there is a smoky/dusty/earthy/campfire sort of character in the background, while the fruit reaches from kiwi, green apple, lemon flesh, lemongrass, tatami mat, enoki mushroom and even hints of white miso. While the estate Sauvignon Blanc is elegant, lean and refined, this is powerful, complex and expansive. This is a wine that will drink better in the future than it does now—the structuring and inherent power make for an exciting future discussion."

"The 2020 Sauvignon Blanc Section 94 continues to be a refined and relatively reductive interpretation of the variety with a concentrated core of of compact fruit meeting struck match, florals, and toasted citrus. A little more subtle than previous vintages which is welcome. Powerful, intense and firm."

"Very, very muted oak gives this wine structure rather than flavour. Firm and chalky-textured with the same bright fruit that characterises their regular, earlier release of Sauvignon Blanc. Just more undertow … and ageing potential. Very impressive."
