"a Mediterranean finish of pleasant flavor, humanity and grace. How beautiful." - Raffaele Vecchione (WinesCritic)
How beautiful.”

Mid ruby. Leafy, cool cherry-fruit nose showing a hint of cardamom with aeration. Sweetly perfumed sour cherry on the palate with a layer of coating tannins. Long and deep with earthy minerally notes on the finish. Ends on lots of juice.

Precise and of excellent sensorial quality, it shows notes of mixed red flowers, cherries, red plums, sweet caramel, wild strawberries and chopped almonds. Medium body, perfectly ripe tannins and a Mediterranean finish of pleasant flavor, humanity and grace. How beautiful. Better from 2026.

Floral style to this tense Brunello, together with cherry jam in a positive, delicate way. Medium- to full-bodied and firm with chalky tannins, yet ripe and refreshing acidity. Juicy overall, with a touch of blood orange in the aftertaste.

The 2020 Brunello di Montalcino is especially dark and rich in the glass, displaying a mix of plum sauce and grilled herbs lifted by hints of mint and cedar shavings. This displays textures of pure silk, coming across and cool-toned and sleek with a core of tart raspberry fruits energized by fresh acidity. The 2020 maintains fantastic balance and poise, finishing classically structured and long yet still quite fresh. This may not have the power of bigger vintages yet impresses more for its graceful and giving nature.

The Talenti 2020 Brunello di Montalcino (with 21,000 bottles made) shows a savory side with cigar smoke and cured leather that cede to dark fruit and baked blackberry. There is a hint of earthy minerality that adds focus and sharpness to the wine's medium-bodied finish. The 2020 vintage is a bit leaner on the mid-palate.

Between spring frost damage in lower holdings around Castelnuovo dell’Abate and the warm, dry summer yielding smaller berries and bunches, Riccardo Talenti estimates production at about 30% less in 2020. Nevertheless, his flagship Brunello tempts with strawberry, tarragon and nutmeg. Midweight and spry, it has a breezy flow across a cheerful candied pomegranate canvas. Just-ripe tannins impart a talc-like texture, and bouncy acidity animates the finish. Enjoy over the next five to eight years.
