"Guidalberto: Toscaanse elegantie met diepgang en finesse"
Guidalberto volgt in het kielzog van vlaggenschip Sassicaia. In één woord: steengoed. De wijn komt in oogstjaar 2024 in een frisse en zachte stijl met 42% merlot en 58% cabernet sauvignon. In het bouquet ruiken we rijpe kersen en cassis aangevuld met salie, laurier en vanille. Een zoals gebruikelijk krachtige en compacte structuur, met ronde tannine. Misschien is het woord 'gepolijst' voor deze tannines wel het meest op zijn plek.
Het koele groeiseizoen heeft een wijn opgeleverd met een levendige frisheid en subtiele minerale tonen die spanning geven. Deze Guidalberto wordt gekarakteriseerd door elegantie. Net als Sassicaia 2023 is Guidalberto van deze vintage al snel op dronk, maar het zullen de geduldigen zijn die extra worden beloond. De wijn kan rustig nog een decennium rijpen en groeien in complexiteit.

Aromas of currants, cedar, mahogany, bark and orange peel say this is distinctly Tuscan. It’s medium-bodied with softness and freshness that bring you back for more. Very soft yet fine tannins. Juicy and subtle. So delicious now. Drink or hold.

A powerful, brilliant ruby red with a subtle violet sheen. Opens with appealing notes of smoke and black truffle, followed by plenty of blackberry, with a hint of dried tomatoes in the background. It hits the palate with rich fruit expression, spreads beautifully, features plenty of fine-grained tannins, is exceptionally polished, has a broad structure, is juicy, and finishes with a long aftertaste.

Almost equal parts Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, Guidalberto remains impressive value for the quality on offer, but buyers should be aware that 2024 is a lighter offering with less density of fruit than in previous years. But those who embrace the vintage will be rewarded with a juicy dark berry core with velvety tannins and flecks of cherry and pomegranate. Lifted herbal and floral aromatics make this so inviting.
