Herkomst & Tolpuddle Vineyard
Tolpuddle Vineyard is een van de meest geroemde terroirs van Tasmanië en hoort bij de absolute top van de Nieuwe Wereld als het gaat om Pinot Noir. De wijngaard werd aangeplant in 1988 en profiteert van het koele, droge klimaat van de Coal River Valley. Hier zorgen lange groeiseizoenen, lage opbrengsten en schrale zandsteenbodems voor Pinot met intensiteit, textuur en pure finesse.
De Tolpuddle Vineyard Pinot Noir 2024 komt uit een fris jaar met nog lagere opbrengsten dan gebruikelijk, wat resulteert in uitzonderlijke concentratie. De wijn brengt dat unieke Tolpuddle-duo: pure verleiding in geur en textuur, én intellectuele diepgang en spanning. Een jaargang die naadloos aansluit op de fenomenaal ontvangen oogstjaren 2022 en 2023.
Smaak & vinificatie
De vinificatie volgt de kenmerkende Tolpuddle-signatuur: precisie, elegantie en een nadruk op fruitzuiverheid. Ongeveer 50% hele trossen geven structuur, spanning en florale lift.
- Vinificatie: selectie van de beste percelen, ca. 50% whole-bunch vergisting, rijping in fijne Franse eiken vaten
- Geur: zwarte kers, pruim, rozenblaadjes, warme kruiden, aardsheid, rook en subtiele bloemige tonen
- Smaak: rijk maar precies, met donkere kersen, rode bessen, kruidigheid, thee, sandelhout en minerale spanning
- Afdronk: lang, zuiver en gelaagd met zijdeachtige, fijnkorrelige tannines en indrukwekkende focus
