****: kersen, cassis, goed in zijn fruit, wat hout, mooi fris, heel precies, mooie tannine
88-90: The Château Belgrave 2014 has a boatload of blackberry and wild strawberry fruit on the nose, the oak a little prominent at the moment, but it is well defined. The palate is quite powerful with thickset tannin, good acidity, lightly spiced with a mouthcoating, lightly spiced finish. It is a bit bold 'n' brassy...but I like that.
91: Inky and youthful, this wine seems a little firm and unyiedling at first, with its Cabernet Sauvignon adding a block of tannin, but it opens up on the palate, revealing fresh, leafy flavours, sweet oak and a long, savoury finish. One of the best CVBG reds. (13%; 62CS, 32Me, 2PV)
92 punten (december 2018) The Dourthe team have invested considerable time and money in this good value fifth growth (1855) and the results show. A blend of 66% Cabernet Sauvignon, 32% Merlot and 2% Petit Verdot, it’s dark, long and linear – a classic for ageing. Drink 2019-2028
