Uiteraard de wereldberoemde Franse Château Latour en Château de Beaucastel. Opus One uit Napa Valley en de meest verhandelde Chileense wijn op de internationale handelsbeurs: Viña Seña.

Masseto en Massetino 2019
Masseto 2019
Masseto is de meest kostbare en schaarse Super Tuscan. Masseto onderscheidt zich als een 100% Merlot van één wijngaard. Waar de andere Super Tuscans veelal gebaseerd zijn op Cabernet Sauvignon of Cabernet Franc, koos Ludovico Antinori voor merlot op zijn landgoed.
En het resultaat is inmiddels legendarisch. Er worden gemiddeld slechts 10.000 kistjes van 3 van deze magische wijn gemaakt. Masseto wordt samen met Petrus tot de grootste merlotwijnen gerekend. Scoort altijd tussen 95 en 100 punten afhankelijk van het oogstjaar en vergeleken met Petrus (5.000-10.000 euro per fles) goed geprijsd.

This wine puts it all out there in full view with a bouquet that is stitched together with ripe blackberry and black cherry preserves, black stone or pencil shaving, sweet spice, cigar, smoke and tar. This was a warm and sunny vintage, and you feel the power of those sunbeams locked within the dark, opulent and concentrated fruit on display here. This is a special treat, and the 2020 edition offers a clear identity for Massetino. This vintage comes close to out-powering the bouquet of the 2019 Masseto also hitting the market ."

Antinori Solaia 2019
Wellicht is zijn broertje Tignanello bekender dan de Grand Vin van Antinori, maar Solaia behoort tot de top 3 van de Super Tuscans, samen met Sassicaia en Ornellaia. Dat Solaia minder bekend is, komt voornamelijk door de geringe productie van Solaia, waardoor deze wijn minder zichtbaar is in restaurants en in kelders. Wat Solaia verder uniek maakt, is dat het uit het hart van Toscane komt én 15-20% Sangiovese in de blend heeft.
De wijn behaalde al enkele keren 100/100 scores bij de critici en is mede hierdoor een felbegeerd item geworden. Drinkvenster: 2027 - 2045

"The Marchesi Antinori 2019 Solaia is another blockbuster success from Tuscany’s leading wine estate. The blend sees a slightly higher percentage of Cabernet Franc and a slightly lower percentage of Sangiovese. The current mix is 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Sangiovese and 10% Cabernet Franc (which has been creeping up in recent years, especially as the climate changes). The soils at the Solaia vineyard are rich in Galestro rock, which is an especially happy pairing with Cabernet Franc in particular. Managing Director Renzo Cotarella tells me that that a vintage like 2019 is proof that the final character of a wine comes from its surrounding territory, not from the blend. This is a generous and extremely expressive edition with lots of dark fruit, spice and sweet tobacco. The tannins are beautifully velvety and soft. This is a beautiful wine that collectors will love."

“The 2010 Latour is deep garnet in color, and—WOW—it erupts from the glass with powerful crème de cassis, Black Forest cake and blackberry pie scents plus intense sparks of dried roses, cigar boxes, fragrant earth and smoked meats with aniseed and crushed rocks wafts. Full-bodied, concentrated and oh-so-decadent in the mouth, it has a firm, grainy texture and lovely freshness carrying the rich, opulent fruit to an epically long finish. It is incredibly tempting to drink now, but I suspect this hedonic experience isn't a scratch on the mind-blowing, otherworldly secrets this time capsule will have to reveal given another 7-10 years in bottle and continuing over the following fifty years++.”

“The aromas of flowers such as roses, violets and lilacs jump from the glass then turn to dark berries such as blueberries and blackberries. It's full-bodied, with velvety tannins and dense and intense with a chocolate, berry and currant character. This is juicy and rich with wood still showing a bit, but it's all coming together wonderfully. Muscular yet toned. Another perfect wine. Try in 2022.”

Hommage à Jacques Perrin 2020 Château de Beaucastel
Dit is dé topcuvée van Château de Beaucastel in Châteauneuf-du-Pape met hoofdzakelijk mourvèdre in de assemblage en gemaakt van oeroude stokken. Deze cuvée wordt alleen in de beste jaren geproduceerd en dan in een bijzonder kleine oplage van slechts 4.000 flessen. De wijn behaalde al enkele keren 100/100 scores bij de critici en is mede hierdoor een felbegeerd item geworden.

Ripe plums and truffle-like notes mark the nose, while the palate is full-bodied and rich, with a long, velvety finish. Showing even more complexity and length than the regular bottling, there's a chance this could reach a triple-digit score down the road.”

Drinkable now, but best from 2025.”

Dit kan de beste Opus One ooit worden met 97-99 punten van Wine Advocate (Parker).
Baron Philippe de Rothschild van Château Mouton Rothschild is deze samenwerking eind jaren 70 aangegaan metRobert Mondavi. Tijdens een vakantie in Napa ontdekte de Baron dat deze streek enorm veel potentie heeft omiconische Bordeaux blends voort te brengen. En dat zag hij heel goed! Opus One is inmiddels verreweg de bekendste wijn uit Napa en de 2019 die wij u vandaag aanbieden is zelfspotentieel de best gewaardeerde oogst ooit. Dat is uniek, omdat deze wijn al 40 oogsten gemaakt is. Dégelegenheid bij uitstek dus om deze Napa-icoon in uw (of onze) kelder te leggen. De beschikbaarheid is helaas ergbeperkt, slechts 5 kistjes.

"Winemaker Michael Silacci commented that usually the blends are finished in January or February after thevintage. This year, with the 2019s, he was still tweaking the blend, but he did mention that this is "pretty close tothe final blend." Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2019 Opus One leaps from the glass with notes of Black Forest cake, Morello cherries, mulberries and fresh blackcurrants plus hints of licorice, wilted roses, Sichuan pepper andiron ore. Full-bodied, the palate is jam-packed with juicy black, blue and red fruits, framed by velvety tannins andbackground freshness, finishing on a compelling earthy/mineral note. Tasted as a barrel sample, this is a trulymagnificent Opus One in the making!"

The purity of fruit is really something else here, with currants and fresh flowers, such as violets and roses. Flowerstems as well. Fantastic length and structure to the wine, with tightness and focus. Wonderful fruit. Graceful. Ablend of 78% cabernet sauvignon, 8% merlot, 7% petit verdot, 6% cabernet franc and 1% malbec. Try after 2028."

Seña en de éérste oogst van de tweede wijn Rocas de Seña 2020
Viña Seña 2020
Seña Wine werd opgericht in 1995 als een samenwerking tussen Eduardo Chadwick, Decanter 'Man of the Year2018', en Napa-legende Robert Mondavi. Zij gingen op zoek naar het allerbeste terroir voor het maken van rodetopwijnen en vonden dit in de Chileense Aconcagua Vallei.Viña Seña (spreek uit Binja Senja) heeft een uniek terroir van vulkanisch gesteente met löss, grind en kleiachtigeleem. In de vallei heerst een mediterraan klimaat met droge, zonnige zomers en koele winters. De nabijheid vande Stille Oceaan zorgt ervoor dat de gemiddelde temperatuur niet te hoog is.
Viña Seña is verreweg de meest verhandelde Chileense wijn op Liv-ex, de Internationale wijnbeurs in Londen. Het is dus een internationaal veelgevraagde wijn geworden in de afgelopen 25 jaar. Drinkvenster: 2024 - 2043

The 2020 Seña is a blend of 53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Malbec, 15% Carmenere and 7% Petit Verdot (a littlehigher in search of acidity) from grapes harvested early, the second week of March, and fermented mostly instainless steel and 10% in concrete eggs. It has a moderate 13.5% alcohol and good freshness. It's subtle andlayered, not only fruit but with more spice; it has polished tannins and very integrated oak after 22 months inbarrique, 78% new, and with 10% of the volume in large Stockinger barrels. The warmer years seem to be nicelymanaged, so that it's not reflected in the ripeness but is more a matter of texture and quality of the tannins; in thewarmer years, like 2017 or this 2019, the wines have a little more grip, but these are definitely finer than thosefrom the 2017 vintage. This wine has intensity and complexity, with no mintiness or herbal notes; it's spicy andjuicy, with energy and depth. It has structure, color, stuffing and acidity to develop nicely in bottle. 100,000 bottlesproduced. It was bottled in February 2022.”

Bibi Graetz Testamatta 2020
Bibi Graetz wordt gezien als één van de meest getalenteerde wijnmakers in Toscane. Hij noemt zichzelf en deze iconische wijn 'Testamatta', wat in het Italiaans 'gek' betekent. Zo is de wijn
geklasseerd als een Toscana Rosso, hoewel de druiven in de Chianti Classico regio groeien. De wijnmaker weet echter precies, op zijn geheel eigen(wijze) manier, waar hij mee bezig is. Graetz, die oorspronkelijk schilder wilde worden en een artistieke opleiding volgde, heeft een trouwe fanclub opgebouwd die in de loop van de afgelopen jaren flink is gegroeid.

“Bibi Graetz has long been tinkering with his formula for this wine, and this vintage represents a new chapter. The 2020 Testamatta is a blend of Sangiovese from old and new vines, with a priority on cooler growing conditions (and even a few northern exposures). In the wake of climate change, and in the pursuit of elegance, Bibi is changing his approach. He also has a new vineyard property near Fiesole, and the introduction of these grapes (from a breezy, high-elevation site) are what gives Testamatta its beautiful clarity, sharpness and lifted bouquet. The new Fiesole fruit makes up about 30% to 35% of this wine. The results are vibrant, transparent and fresh both in terms of acidity and aromatic intensity. This is a wine in transformation and a wine to watch”

Bibi Graetz Colore 2018
Dé icoonwijn van Bibi Graetz wordt door de internationale wijnpers gerekend tot de iconische Super Tuscans: Ornellaia, Tignanello, Solaia, Oreno, Sassicaia, Masseto. Kortom een aardig rijtje namen om tussen te staan.
De oogst 2018 was indrukwekkend en gaf zeer zuivere druiven die van bijzonder hoge kwaliteit waren. In feite is de Colore 2018 vol met donkerrood fruit, bramen, pruim, frambozen, rode kers, kruiden, fantastische intense aroma's. De zuurgraad is perfect in balans in combinatie met de zijdeachtige tannine. De wijn heeft zoals je kunt verwachten een bijna eindeloze, minutenlange afdronk. Voor de jaargang 2018 zijn complexiteit en puurheid de sleutelwoorden. De Colore 2018 is een van de beste jaargangen ooit gemaakt, aldus Bibi Graetz. Oudere jaargangen gaan voor hoge prijzen weg, deze wijn voor deze prijs is derhalve erg interessant.
